High fire rate, medium-high energy consumption, massive damage. Spore Cannon - Unlocked in Arrack territory. Don't get too many of these or your energy will go in seconds, no more than two should do you, but to be honest one has been enough for me the whole game. Slow fire rate, high energy consumption, massive damage. Graviton Gun - Unlocked in Oc'to territory. Personally only used them a couple of times. Almost exactly the same as lasers but do massive damage to shields versus minimal damage to hull. Ion Cannon - Unlocked in Raptor territory. Low energy consumption, low damage but VERY high fire rate, recommended you combine these with lasers early on. Personally I only used this towards the beginning and even then only to take down Cruisers, they get outdated quickly I find. Fairly fast fire rate with decent damage and energy consumption, a happy average weapon. There are seven different types of weapon, eight if you count Secret Service. Ok, now I've finished the game I'll give you a better idea of what to get weapons-wise. With this loadout I find myself having very few problems in combat, Cruisers present some problems but then again they're meant to, so I find a blind spot and blow them to pieces while staying still.Īs for the Energy side of things, I go and buy everything I can for my current tech level apart from the cargo scanners, got no need for them really. Secret Service Tower level 3 (railgun effect) Landing Computer level 4 (5 Unit effective range) Jammer Level 4 (50% chance to jam police scanners) As far as upgrade points go I've got none in Engines, 4 in Hull and 6 in Wings. Well I'm currently in the Raptor systems, ship level 10 and I've got enough slots for 2 Equipment, 4 weapons, 2 turrets.
